It sounded right at soundcheck. Then the room filled up. Now it’s the top of the first verse and the snare is off. Slide the NATO-1 XL's handle until it’s right and keep playing. No steps, no locks, and nobody hears you do it. Keep the drum you love and replace the one part you don’t. See if yours fits using our fit tool below. (short handle & butt plate sold separately)

NATO-1 XL HIGHLIGHTS

Adjust & Play On-The-Fly

Set the snare position anywhere along the entire moveable range without having to lock the position in place.
Simply slide the handle to adjust & play on-the-fly.
The amount of force needed to turn the handle is completely under your control by a single friction adjustment screw.

Simple Design & Silent Operation

Both the snare wire tension (how tight the snare wires are) and snare wire position (near or far to the reso head) are adjusted using a single movement of the handle.
This simple design provides for an ultra-quiet operation as well as providing ultimate simplicity of operation.

Compact & Durable

Weighing just 4.02 oz (114.1g) in aluminum, or 10.54 oz (298.7g) in brass, & only 2 7/8" tall (73mm), the NATO-1™ XL is hands-down among the smallest & lightest throw offs on the market today.
Extremely durable with its anodized surface treatment for aluminum parts & lacquer finish for brass parts.

Precision Machined

Made with high grade aluminum, brass, and machined to .001 tolerances, each part fits and operates smoothly, reliably, and without rattling during play.
Each NATO-1™ XL is backed by a lifetime warranty for defects.

NATO-1 Fit Evaluator

Search your drum brand or model, or check a known hole spacing, to see which Sonique throw-off fits.

Type your drum brand or model (e.g. "Dunnett", "DW", "SJC")

Enter your throw-off's hole spacing (center-to-center)

The NATO-1 XL ships in 12 fixed spacing options from 3/8" to 1 11/16" (9.53mm to 42.86mm). These are specific spacings, not a continuously adjustable range. The Original NATO-1 has four spacing options from 3/8" to 1 3/8".
