Mike Ashworth is a touring drummer with the Grammy Award-winning Steep Canyon Rangers. He first joined the Steep Canyon Rangers in 2013 for their cross-country tour with Steve Martin and Edie Brickell to support their new album titled "Love Will Come For You". Ashworth continues to tour with The Rangers as themselves & select shows in the U.S. with Steve Martin & Martin Short. Notable artists that Mike has appeared or toured with are Edie Brickell, Steve Martin, Martin Short, the John Stickly Trio, Jeff Sipe, Psgah Pickers, Town Mountain, Leigh Glass, Bill Berg (Flim & the BB's, Bob Dylan), and Shannon Whitworth (Tedeschi-Trucks band).
Since Mike joined the Steep Canyon Rangers, they recently earned a GRAMMY nomination in 2021 for their album "North Carolina Songbook".

Steam-bent walnut snare native to the Pacific Northwest with a low fundamental pitch. Each shell is hand-rubbed with two coats of pure tung oil over a two week curing period before being sprayed with three coats of a long-lasting & UV resistant polyurethane satin finish.
Mike is currently using our unique 12-point tension rods and the innovative NATO-1 throw off on tour with his pacific walnut snare.
