Load Distributing Washers
Prying forces are generated and incrementally increased while adding tension to the snare drum head. And since we are keeping the number of lugs down to eight for our snares, taking extra steps in distributing the load across all lug mount points is an important feature to our design approach and one that is exclusively developed and used by Sonique.
Additionally, we employ the use of a low-profile, wide head 16mm screw to mount the lug. The very wide head combined with an even wider washer surface area allows for maximum distribution of load over the inner surface of the drum shell.
Unibody Lugs
Our Legacy Custom lugs are inspired by our drum and drum sticks logo, these CNC machined brass lugs provide ultimate strength, wear, and unmistakable appearance.
Our Stage and Studio Series drum lugs are inspired from the NATO-1 profile of the angled strap bed and butt plate, creating a cohesive appearance for the entire set of hardware.
This unique unibody design means that we construct our drums with absolute precision and alignment so that other parts like gaskets, swivel nuts, and springs inside the lug that can rattle or break over time are not even needed.
Low Profile Mounting Screws w/Thread Locker
All drums made today are built using a low-profile stainless steel screw that is coated in a mild thread locker to mitigate backing out over time. This method is superior to other methods like using lock washers.
While locking washers do offer some resistance to loosening, thread locking liquid provide a stronger, more reliable solution by filling gaps and preventing movement.
Signature Tension Rods
Our signature tension rods are precision machined from an ultra-strong bronze alloy or stainless steel. The perfect profile of the wrench head ensures less slip and sloppiness as your old die-cast tension rods which tend to have a very sloppy and rounded head design. Our signature tension rods work perfectly with any modern drum key as well as our own socket drum key. If you opt to upgrade to our socket drum key, you'll enjoy 3x improved engagement speed over your old key.
Cast Bronze Classic & Flat Style Hoops
Keeping with our approach of using materials that are naturally resonating, our hoops are cast from bronze and machined to perfection. They are then hand sanded and sprayed with several coats of lacquer to maintain a long-lasting appearance.
Both "Classic" and "Flat" hoops are available now with our signature "S" hoops becoming available at a later date.
